Make A Wish For Addi and Cassi Today

Dandelion-Final

Your support and encouragement helps us get through each day as we fight our battle against Niemann Pick Type C, the “Childhood Alzheimer’s.”  We read all messages posted to our family and while we may not be able to respond to each message, your messages are very touching.  Thank you to everyone around the world who has posted on our Wishes Board.

    Dear Hempel Family
I first heard about your family through an email from Erin. It warms my heart seeing pictures and videos of Addi and Cassi. It also breaks my heart for all of you having to go through this nightmare. How wonderful for you to have so much hope. When it comes to your children you just have to have hope don’t you?
We know all too well in our family what it feels like to feel helpless and have that clock ticking. Our 2nd daughter Ella died at the age of 2.5 days ultimately due to malpractice. She had an undiagnosed heart defect and her dr ignored the symptoms and red flags until it was too late. I basically stood there watching her slip away before my eyes. We were kept in the dark regarding her symptoms until 4 hours before she died.
I would do anything to be able to fight for Ella and I hope you find comfort in knowing you are doing everything you can to fight for your two girls. I wish with all of my heart your girls live long happy & healthy lives. Addi and Cassi are so lucky to have you two as their parents. Good luck.
    Sincerely
    Tina Mangold

I read an article in our local paper here about 2 boys in the area with NPC and it was a very touching story. When I researched online pics, your 2 girls came up. They are beautiful and look like very outgoing children. My family wishes you all the best in the world and you and your family are in our prayers.
    God Bless

    Hello.
I just recently lost a friend who was 20 years old who suffered from dementia and it also runs heavily within my family. I didn’t know much about young children or teenagers suffering so I decided to research more and found your story. Currently I am having to write a paper in one of my classes and decided that I wanted to write it on Childhood Alzheimer’s but focusing on Niemann Pick Type C and your daughters story. I wish the best of luck for your family and your two girls.

    God Bless,
    Robin Pinheiro

I am trying to bring awareness on my Facebook page and hope that people will donate.
