Make A Wish For Addi and Cassi Today

Dandelion-Final

Your support and encouragement helps us get through each day as we fight our battle against Niemann Pick Type C, the “Childhood Alzheimer’s.”  We read all messages posted to our family and while we may not be able to respond to each message, your messages are very touching.  Thank you to everyone around the world who has posted on our Wishes Board.

Hi Addi and Cassi (and mommy and daddy of course!)

I heard about your story on “The Drs” and I must say that I was totally enthralled with it..

I have seen the effects of adult Alzheimer’s, and it is such a terrible, ruthless disease, one that no adult should ever have to go through, let alone a child..

I have actually made it my “goal” to try to fight this disease in any way that I can, even going back to school to get a degree in Human Services so that I can better “get out there” to fight this.. I graduate in three weeks with the first part of my degree and them am continuing on – yay!

Long story short, I would LOVE to do whatever I can to help you out with your fight.. I am afraid that I can not knit, or even sew, but I would love to help in some other way with your CureCaps project – whether it be networking, etc..

Please let me know what I can do – I have two babies of my own – William is three and Alayna is five and I am sure that they would LOVE to be pen pals!!

Please get back to me and let me know what I can do to help!

    Hugs –

    Dear Hempel Fmaily:

Jessie has been in the hospital again with pneumonia and we just got home today. We wanted to let you know that we are thinking of the entire Hempel family. We were able to watch the interview you all did on The Doctor’s. C ongratulations to you for getting the word out there and for having the stamina to continue to fight. I can imagine the emotions that went through you as you did the interview and then watched it on television. You are correct when you say that it is a nightmare that you are waiting to wake up from.

We continue to pray for Addi and Cassi each night and hope that you and Hugh take the time to enjoy the simplest of moments with the girls. It is all about creating memories. Yes, they are different memories than others experience yet they are still filled with love.

    Take good care,

    Lisa, Anthony and Jessica

I watched the story of your little angels and I’m very touched and moved by your experience. I felt like I was watching my own baby suffering. Please know that I will pray for them, God can heal any disease and reverse it leaving no symptoms. I cannot sleep thinking about these little angels; God give you peace as you endure this trial; there is a reason for everything and God will reveal this reason by and by. My prayer is with you, deep love and concern for your babies is flowing through my entire being. I will suppport your cause and uphold you in prayer.
    With love and compassion,
    Mercy
