Hello Chris and Hugh,
I am a brother-in-law to Grandma Bev Hempel. I met you in Saratoga when we were celebrating John’s life. Eileen(Bev’s sister) and I have been remembering you through these days and praying for whatever good can come from this sad turn of events. I am a retired pastor and for the last two months have been serving as an interim in Pierre, SD. I lifted up your family’s circumstance and needs several times in our worship.
A retired dentist and his wife have a son who is a neonatologist in Cedar Rapids. When they shared the story with him, he asked for a diagnosis. I was able to tell them, and they shared it with him. He is just starting out, but he was anxious to learn more. I’ll plan also to send him a link to your website and encourage others to be aware and informed about this need.
In the meantime, we will continue to hold you in our prayers – in our home and in our tiny church in Pringle, SD.
