I asked last September if these little girls had ever been tested for Vitamin B12 deficiency. There is also a genetic cause which doesn’t show up in the serum level. I can’t urge you enough to give these children an aggressive course of B12 injections. It is in no way harmful even if it wasn’t needed but if that is their problem (and it’s a seriously misdiagnosed problem) then you would notice an incredible and possibly immediate improvement.
