Make A Wish For Addi and Cassi Today
Your support and encouragement helps us get through each day as we fight our battle against Niemann Pick Type C, the “Childhood Alzheimer’s.” We read all messages posted to our family and while we may not be able to respond to each message, your messages are very touching. Thank you to everyone around the world who has posted on our Wishes Board.

I am a local resident and saw your story on Dateline. My heart prays for you and your little girls. I am a paramedic here in Reno and admire your persistence in finding a cure for your beautiful girls’ disease. I too have twins and know how much fun having two of the best friends under one roof each day and wish for you to have many many more years of fun with them. I know that some days must be incredibly overwhelming and emotional, but with all your hope and love for Addison and Cassi I wish for you a wonderful and complete recovery.
Addi and Cassi are such angels. I wish them wellness and happiness.
I just saw the piece about your beautiful daughters on Dateline and I am very touched. I have a 19 month old little girl so your story meant a lot to me. I couldn’t imagine being in your shoes yet you are so strong for your girls!
You are truly an inspiration and I wish the new treatment works for those beautiful girls. Thank you for sharing the story with the world.

Hello Hempel family!
Saw your story on dateline and was moved to tears. Before going back to school, I worked in a laboratory that diagnosed rare genetic disorders … and I often times felt so helpless delivering these life changing diagnoses to patients.
This was part of the reason why I went back to school … so that I could learn research. And, hopefully one day be able to provide a solution along with the diagnosis.
I truely admire your effort to educate yourself … and seek a solution for your girls! You girls are soooooo blessed, because many well-intentioned parents would have never even thought or had the capacity to do all that you’ve done for your girls.
My thoughts are with you … and I am praying that the cyclodextrin helps alleviate their symptoms … and that they will regain the ability to communicate and enjoy life as 5-year old girls!
Good bless!
