Make A Wish For Addi and Cassi Today
Your support and encouragement helps us get through each day as we fight our battle against Niemann Pick Type C, the “Childhood Alzheimer’s.” We read all messages posted to our family and while we may not be able to respond to each message, your messages are very touching. Thank you to everyone around the world who has posted on our Wishes Board.

Just heard about the twins and want to offer some information that won’t hurt and might help. As Hippocrates once said, “First do no harm”.
Before watching the ABC video, my first thought was that perhaps the girls had recently been vaccinated and were suffering from mercury poisoning. Mercury most often does NOT show up in blood, urine, or hair analysis, unless there has been a recent and acute poisoning. Personally, I was tested a year ago and the tests were negative. After using the Takara Detox Foot Patches (began using them 3 months ago) for two weeks I began having severe detox symptoms; brain fog, inability to form a complete thought. agitation, confusion, incoordination, lack of oxygen (shallow breathing), chills, struggling to do any kind of task including driving. Having done other types of detoxes, I knew these were detox symptoms. Had my heavy metals retested (using electro-dermal screening) and this time heavy metals and chemicals were very high; especially mercury. Continued using the patches for six more weeks but detox symptoms became too much and had to cut back. Am doing better at a slower pace. In addition to the patches, there are other detoxification methods such as clay baths (LL’s), and zeolite clay drops (Natural Cellular Defense) and you can follow their protocols.
Another great resource is the website http://www.earthedforlife.com. Go there and read the research. This is an amazing discovery (though scientists have known this, the general public does not) which you will hear much more about in the near future. It’s been called “the most profound health discovery of our time” by Dr. James Oschmann, Ph.D. The world’s foremost energy medicine doctor.
I know you are looking for a drug to help the girls. I hope you find one if that is your chosen decision. My personal view is that the drugs can be more harmful than the disease, but I’m sure you’re aware of the risks. I don’t use drugs. It’s not an option for me, so I’ve found other ways of getting healthy. My history is rich with major illnesses (I’ll spare you) so I know from experience what has worked for me.
Lastly, I recommend The American Botanical Pharmacy at http://www.herbdoc.com/home_1024x768.asp
Dr. Shultze specializes in “incurables”. There is no such thing as an incurable disease! My advice? Unless that is what you prefer to believe, go elsewhere! Never give up. Your girls can be cured completely.
After watching the video, it did not sound like Mercury poisoning, though the symptoms are so similar that I felt it still could be related somehow. Good luck to you.
My heart ached watching the video of Addi and Cassi, they are beautiful. Your courage and stength is amazing. I hope scientist doing research on NPC find a cure soon and that all you do for your babies help them overcome this illness. Everyday is a new day and everyday your blessed having them with you, god bless you.
I can’t imagine what your family is going through. My prayers are with you every moment of every day. I hope that your two beautiful girls immerge way past what the doctors predict. Keep your heads up high, and reach for the stars. 🙂 And to your girls… Girls go get em!!!!
I did not get to see GMA, but I did read the article. Another family mentioned your story. Our daughter Alexis had juvenile onset Tay Sachs and passed away a year and a half ago. We like you had to do something to help her. She had a cord blood transplant at Duke in NC. While we were there I had the pleasure of knowing three beautiful girls that also had NP. I pray daily for some sort of break through for all of these children.
Dear Hempel Family,
I saw your story on Good Morning America and on KOLO we are from the Reno area but now live in Redding. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I believe very strongly in having a large prayer group as I have a special needs daughter that has been blessed with prayers and lots of love. When she was born doctors told my husband and I to take our daughter home to die. Our daughter will be 6 years old this July and she is a true miracle. Please stay strong I know how hard this is.
God Bless
Brian, Jennifer, Michael, and Ashley
